About
I’ve always had an interest in photography since I first used my parents’ little old camera back when I was a child. I bought my first film SLR camera back in 1997 after giving up on my old faithful £20 Dixons compact, I wanted to be able to adjust the focus, set the exposure and change the shutter speed and experiment with the freedom of a manual camera. That SLR was an Olympus OM10 and lasted me a whole decade and travelled with me through thick and thin including both North and South America…yet it only took me that first roll of film back from the lab for me to fall completely for film photography. Even with the sea change move to digital I still find myself happy to stick with film for all the reasons that made me fall in love with it from the start: the cinematic texture, rich grain, deep tones, warm light and above all its physical sense of authenticity, character, soul and presence.

In recent years I’ve been lucky enough to have been asked to take photos for particular projects for friends and clients, all who desired an aesthetic that went beyond the quick and easy digital option, for a medium that would visually compliment their own work, be it art, music, fashion, etc. Digital photography undeniably has its advantages over film such as speed, cost and availability but for someone looking for an true authentic and original feel to seperate them from the rest, film is a perfect answer.
As a film photographer I feel I can provide a creative partnership that with film photography can give that particular aesthetic to give depth, character and also set your work apart from everyone else. I have a wide collection of cameras, lenses and equipment to visually fine tune to any particular need including SLR, Lomo, Polaroid and vintage. Combined with the cameras I have a broad knowledge of many types of film including black & white (hand developed if required), colour (both negative and slide film), medium format and cross-processing, all of which can be implemented to suit your specific requirements. I also have in-depth experience of photographing all sorts of different subjects in a variety of environments and conditions, outside or inside, natural light or flash, day or night.
