due to the constantly unpredictable weather of the uk all beaches have shelters along their sea front. normally protecting pensions napping in the winter, shelter from the sun when it's occasionally too hot or sun bathers caught in a shower in the summer, they seem to be an intigral part of great british beach life...

as a kid in the 80s i visited docklands (still known as just the isle of dogs back then) when it was still just a building site, 20+ years on and the place still has cranes up and construction continues...

just like in many other cites and towns frankfurt has a wasteland spot that's an old factory that has been demolished leaving behind a perfectly smooth floor that skaters have built their own stuff on top. it reminded me of colchester and the hythe knives...

in the central courtyard of the old frankfurt police station they set up a course anyone could skate, professional skateboarder or young kid. for most of the weekend american pros would skate it for fun and the rest of the trade show watched them and the fellow watchers...

frankfurt is meant to be the the heart of Europe's finances and the architecture reflects that with impressive glass structures at every turn. Something about these lamp posts caught my eye though, i've been working on a long term project where inanimate, every day objects seemingly express affection and love for each other and i think embracing street lights might get included...
